Oooh ok. I read that but didn't know meaty meant short lived. :( i was wondering what i missed. Poor marsie. At least her "new" end of life will be much better than what her "old" end of life was going to be.

This isn't really chicken related, but today I went to my local craft fair and came home with a bunch of junk, and an Anole lizard. My zoo is now complete! Fiannaly a reptile!

As my family would say to me "REALLY?" LOL ,Sounds like something my kids would want. I occasionally find some type of creepy, crawly lizard thing in my basement sump pump hole or out in the yard by the dog kennel. I don't know what they are, salamander or newt but ick. My girls are lucky I touch those mealworms, now that's gotta be love cause I hate bugs. So does it need heat too? What does it eat? And what craft fair, I like craft fair I wish I could've went. And I don't think a zoo is ever complete, come on you know you want more ;)

My son wanted a tarantula. I drew the line there! I love animals and my kids know that all they have to say is, mommy can i have a...... and i'm grabbing my keys to go buy it. A big hairy spider? Heck no.

It was my town high school's craft fair. The elementary school is having one soon. The lizard eats mealworms, baby food or fruit, and lizard pellets. You don't have to touch the worms, you leave the can in the tank and they last for four months supposedly. Apparently, as long as your house is within temperature range, you do not need a heat lamp. However, a UV light is recommended for bone strength. It was basically a bunch of venders (jewelry, decorations, clothing, other accessories) that sold stuff, and then there was the lizard guy. He comes to a lot of my town fairs and always sells all his reptiles. He sold out today even. Tomorrow, I have to go buy worms, lizard food, baby food, and a UV light. And, I picked out some nice jewelry and Christmas ornaments while I was there too! I'll get a pic of him tomorrow. His name is Terrador. :) oh, and when I said my zoo is complete, I meant I now have birds, mammals, an amphibian, and a reptile. I wish I could have more!

I want a Tarantula so bad! My mom won't have it in the house though. I like the Mexican Red and the Pink-Toe T's. their fur makes them cute!

I don't think I could ever use the words tarantula and cute together, but I could be wrong. Lol. And I'm with your mom.

I think I'm the one convincing my kids sometimes. Like recently, "oh come on boys, wouldn't you like to go outside and get your own fresh milk?" They're like "really mom"? Where would we put it and what would the neighbors think. Horse, cow whats the difference? if you can have one why not the other. Same look as when I told them they make chicken diapers so you can bring you chicken in the house. Didn't go over so well. I'm not made to live in a residential development.
