I ordered a water wiggler on amazon for a dollar or two - I just didn't have the time to go hunting for one and I have Prime so I get free shipping. Two days later a box came...they sent a whole case of water wigglers!!! I think 18 of them. Too bad I'm so far away, I have plenty to share!

I felt that way about the thermometer. Yes, too bad your a little far. Today I noticed the last rail on my egg turner is broken. Snapped at the point where it joins the turning part. It was pre-assembled so I hope when I call Monday they will send a replacement.

And I'd hate for some one to come across all those wigglers and wonder why you have so many. Lol

Does anyone have any ideas on how to tell your girls apart? I can tell when all 3 of my RIRs are together and pretty much when I see them one on one. But my kids get confused. I looked at the leg bands but the ones I saw you needed to put on as chicks or need to buy 100...I need 3

any other suggestions??

I use the smaller zip-ties for mine. Just keep a close eye when you put them on the chicks - they grow much faster than you expect. I let them go for too long once and they were almost too tight to get them off. There's no marker of nail polish that will last on either their nails or feathers.



Diana, I guess it might be best to keep Marsie from the others - I forgot about her bathroom habits. That's probably not best for the new babies. Maybe you can let them all free range together and she can get used to the others that way. How's she doing otherwise?

She's doing great otherwise. She seems happy. She's huge though, omg.

I leave the leg bands on any of the birds that I buy so when I breed tem I can keep track if the original ones . Also every year I buy different color bands so I can keep track of what birds I breed and kept and I will also band some of my good birds that I sell to c if I ever c them at shows !

I think watching my chickens dirt bathing is one of my favorite things to do. Today I caught all 5 in a group bath. I watched them for over half an hour and my cheeks actually hurt from smiling. It's the little things in life.................
