I looked up the auction and it seems awesome, but I’m curious if you need any vet paperwork or NPIP certification to sell there? It says all animals are screened, do they screen them or do they need to be screened prior, taking quail to the vet in order to sell them for a few bux is not really cost effective for me.Hi and welcome to BYC. I also have 4 black copper marans cockerels that need to be rehomed. On every Tuesday there is an auction at Cedar Lane Feed in Elmer. They auction hay, livestock and all types of poultry. The auction starts at 1, all animals and stuff must be there by 12. You can leave if this is too stressful and they will send you a check.
I called them today and they sound amazing! I asked the lady if she thought it was worthwhile for me to drive 2 hours to bring 40 quail chicks, and she said definitely. So tomorrow I’m taking my chicks and 9 adult males and dropping them off for the auction. She said you don’t have to be NPIP or anything, they have them looked at by a vet before the auction. I’m gonna see how much that brings me, I estimate it’s about $25 in gas and tolls. If I get a check for $80 or more, I’ll plan to go once every month or so.Hi and welcome to BYC.
