Hello
I am in ocean co by Great adventure

sorry to hear about your troubles

There is hope

we will all think pos thougts for you

if they are in a coup that small couldnt you try to bring them inside on a closed in porch or garage? they wouldnt even know you had them, you could wheel them out during the day when noise wont be noticed.

not to change topic but i also plan on breeding some chicks this year. i'll be getting an incubator for christmas but need some fertile eggs. i would like breeds that are broody and preferably mature fast. anyone in the area have fertile hatching eggs they'd be willing o sell? i only needs a handful because i plan on trying to keep a roo from the hatch. he'll be spoiled in a 3 season room during the evening and given some yard time each day to mingle with the ladies. i dont care about egg color but consistent layers would be nice. i need some more ladies to keep up with all these egg orders.

Well, I'm finished with college and looking forward to getting back into the chicken side of things! I look forward to attending shows again and building up my flock. Can't wait to see/meet some of you New Jersey-ians!

Good for you, Lauren! I'll be finished at the end of the month, then start again two weeks later with my master's - pray for me! You should take a trip up to the Northeast Poultry Congress - that's a great show. Still deciding how many baths I want to give.

Good luck with your masters! What are you trying to get it in?

When and where is that show? I would love to try and make it.

I'll be at Rutgers working for my degree in Library Science. I'll be going online, thank god, so that will save me on gas. I may graduate the same time my daughter does! Wouldn't that be cool!

Here's the link for the Congress. It's the 14-15 of January. Last year there was over 1,000 birds, and it's a nice, big, open space. A bit chilly, though, so wear warm clothes. But all of the birds look great from their fresh feathers after the fall molt. It's in Springfield, Mass. About 3 hours from my house - should be the same for you if you come out 80. We got a room at the Red Roof in for like 65.00!
