New kitten help please - updated apres vet

Yep - a vet visit is in order. Baby cats should spend some time playing and tearing up the house! Last one we got from in front of a local little market needed vet care w/in the first couple days - not eating, listless, etc. He had an upper respiratory infection, as well as worms. Took him almost 2 weeks on antibiotics before he was a normal kitten-terror!

How did redhen see it's tummy? You can get a really good wormer, get the wormer made for people for pinworms (pyrantel). It's the same wormer it would get at the vet. Prob 1/2 cc for this little guy is enough for now. Hook worms can take a kitten down in a hurry.

His belly is fat and bloated now because I just fed him yoghurt mixed with KLM. Now his bloated belly is sleeping on my bloated belly.

He peed too - on me whilst I was feeding him. It's a good thing I'm washable.

He is SO darned cute. Can you believe a 7 ounce piece of fluff had a 190lb man pinned to the couch?

Feller is SUCH a marshmallow.

Okay, I will admit not much was done at all today because at least one of us has been held hostage by his cuteness at any given time.

I'm beginning to think it's pretty young. Try to stimulate it to use the bathroom by rubbing it's "bathroom parts" with a warm moist paper towel.

Oops sorry redhen, not seeing well today. Ok then.. let's see a pic!

Ok I see the pic now. They look to be about 6 weeks. You shouldn't have to stimulate at that age, but you can if you are afraid it's not going. Must have been holding it if it went on you. May not even have been weaned yet. You never can tell with people. I'd try it on a wet food kmr mix and see what it does.

If the eyes are still dark blue then it may not be as old as you thought and may need more care.

I would go the the vet on Wednesday if possible.

Update:

Nameless kitty is has started eating wet food mixed with KMR from a spoon and has been having yoghurt liquid (whey?) from a syringe.

He used his litter pan today to pee (we moved him to it when he started scratching around on the couch). Still hasn't pooped, but we'll see what the afternoon brings.

He is very playful when he is awake and seems to be pretty content.

I think stress was his biggest issue (which is not any surprise). He is still heading off to our vet first thing tomorrow morning for his check up and worming.

Now we just have to figure out what to name him. We are mainly considering Scottish Gaelic names.

Yay! Glad hes eating!!!
