New Member - Aloha from Maui

My brother has been to Hawaii and various islands many times - he loves it. He also took pictures of the wild chickens. The closest I have come is wearing my IZ hook t-shirts, and listening to his beautiful CD music. I am not a traveler like the rest of the family. Wish I would have met him though and heard him sing in person.

Hi, Turtleguy. Going by what I was told, ISA Browns are referred to as production browns. They are a cross between RIRs and another breed (cannot remember). They are bred for high production of brown eggs. Had I known more details before receiving them, I would have waited for the hatchery to have other breeds available. I REALLY should have done my homework. ISA Browns have shorter lifespans unfortunately!! We have two young boys so I am hoping our ISAs outlive the norm!! Having to get rid of our prior four (after becoming roosters) was traumatic enough. :)
