New member, could use some pointers on types of chickens for my area! (Delaware)

Welcome to the forum, and the crazy world of chickens! You should get whatever kind of chickens tickle your fancy!
Moderate egg layers that are generally friendly and gorgeous to look at are the different types of Wyandottes. Black Australorps and Buff Orpingtons are pretty much everyone’s favorites! Ameraucana for their gorgeous eggs. Cream leg bars for the same. Good luck in making your choices!

Some good chicken breeds would be Australorps, Orpingtons, Rhode Island Reds, Easter Eggers, and Sussex.

Welcome! I'm new to chickens too, but can highly recommend Black Australorps as being a good "beginner" chicken. I plan to get three more next spring.

This is the best place to learn about the whole chicken experience. Nice members, and usually a lot of answers from different people about any question you may have. Good luck!
