hey everyone just thought id introduce myself. i live in sadkatchewan Canada been on the farm for 20 yrs mainly raised horses and a few chickens. we recently left the farm in the southern prairies to start a new life homesteading off grid in the northern part of the province. northern sask is deep in the boreal Forrest so we are having to completely relearn how to farm. we started off up here with a very small flock of hens last yr only to loose them all to weasles within the first month. we are hoping to try again this yr and i would greatly apreciate any helpful advice folks would have on predator control or prevention
we do have quite a few dogs on the property ( 5 ) as bears cougars and wolves are common in our area. tho unfortunately our dogs are not chicken friendly. weve lost a few hens over the yrs to our pyraneese . ill definitely look into the other threads you mentioned for advice with my problem
