Hi everyone: I have a pair of Chinese Blue Breasted Quail aka Button Quail. I have just hatched 7 chicks in an incubator and am having a great time with them.
The female adult is named Stella and her dashing mate is Henry Orville, he is Orville because these quail "popcorn" when they are frightened...also called boinking. Stella has laid an egg almost everyday but she is not incubating. I decided to hatch a batch and see if I can sell them locally or if they will be hard to sell or donate before hatching more. I do not want to get into a large business just sell a few here and there. The pair I have I bought from a breeder from northern Colorado who raises them to use for raptor training and rehab. I just wanted a pair because I have always loved all birds and these guys are quite interesting.
Oh and my member name, GrandmaBird is what my grand daughters call me as my name is Robin. lol
