I am new to laying hen breeds and picked up 4 chicks from TSC! I know that's my first mistake. They had these chicks labeled as buff orpingtons. I picked them because of the characteristics the store had posted. After leaving the store I did a quick search and quickly realized that they are not orpingtons. I am not going to return them, the kids already named them. 🤣 does anyone have any idea to what breed they are and the gender? The store also had them labeled as hens.

Should be around 3 to 4 weeks old. A.I. possible suggestions were cream legbar, brown leghorn, welsummer, and easter eggers. Probably the latter is my guess

Welcome to BYC! Unfortunately there's a lot of breeds that can look like those chicks at that age, so you probably won't know the breeds for sure until they get a bit older. They look like they all have single combs with no beards or muffs, which means Ameraucauna-based EE is not likely.

That makes sense. I also really don't see the tuft of feathers that cream legbars get on their heads either.
