New member in sw france

I'll dig out his number, I'm sure I have it somewhere and PM it to you. I'm super busy this week and off to Wales for my brothers wedding later in the week so give me a reminder next week! He is an retired amatuer enthusiast but his set up is amazing and his birds live in really lovely conditions with huge seperate wooded parks for each breed - he is so passionate about them and just loves them!

ETA I dont' sell them at the moment but hope to when I start getting some fun coloured egg birds coming through. I need to enlarge my set up first - my coop is way too small. Plan was to have a new one for the winter but hasnt' happened :he
Thanks for that, I hope the trip goes well.

Yeah! Same with my parents when we were little. I’ll be in Paris first week of January. Hope the yellow vests have stopped and peace restored. I just got message this morning that we may get a tax to support highway work. Hope not too much. It is what it is. How far are you away from Paris?
We are a long way from Paris, perhaps 900 miles. We still have yellow jackets at some of the larger roundabouts though. I agree with them but the troublemakers that have infiltrated the crowds are a problem, they just want to cause fights. Good that Macron has increased the minimum wage because of it but he has had to up the tax to compensate. It’s all swings and roundabouts, glad I am not a politician they have no real friends.

Thanks for the explanation!

Are you aware of the cause of the yellow jackets ? I am sure it will be over by January and, to be honest, it is blown out of proportion on English media so probably is in USA too. It’s really not THAT bad !

Yeah a traveler said he was ok and the most we might be bothered for is a flyer explaining the cause. Our travel advisory was stating to avoid west end of Paris and near arc de triumphe so we worried about how much we would see as the district we are supposed to see is recommended to avoid since the yellow vests were hanging in those areas. Reported the riots went violent Dec 1 & 2 with 130 injured and 3 deaths from falling metal or gate. They have stated has stopped since and was in negotiations with the government to solve the issue of fuel taxes since that was the issue resulting in protesting. We are hoping it is stopped and we will be able to see things even in the west side of Paris by first week of January. They are still encouraging travel to the area so we still intend to go. We were given news sources to look for updates so can stay away from areas if protesters appear again. I’m sure will be fine.

Hi Debby, we’re in the other direction from you, between Toulouse and Saint Gaudens. Our chickens came from the large market in Samatan in the Gers region. I’m planing on going back there next spring to buy another 3 to 4 birds as there was a good choice.
Mmm, sounds interesting, do they sell anything other than farm hens ? Vorwerk for example ? Are they breeds or mixed breeds ? What conditions are they in ?
Sorry about the questions, Samatan isn’t that far from us really. Not far at all if the hubby drives
