Hi new member from Scotland here. 4 years keeping 3 rescue hens (charity gets them at 14 months from farm instead of the abbatoir) They get a well deserved retirement instead. They are all hybrids shades of brown through to orange in colour. They come in various states of feather cover but in a few weeks they're happy free rangers. They also die readily but die happy. Thank you for the post about sour crop and vent gleet. I have my fingers crossed that the coconut oil route works for my oldest hen (5½) who is unwell. I'm trying and past experience with hens and vets is not great. I have been a cat and dog owner but all gone for the present at least. Otherwise, walking, running, gardening, volunteering and my job keep me busy.
Good to meet you each and all. 🐓🐔

Hiya, and welcome to BYC! :frow That's so neat what you're doing for those chickens! Please make yourself at home here and as always, if you have any questions, just find the appropriate forum above and ask!
