New Member - Looking for help!

Hello everyone!
I am a new member here. I have a lot of experience with mammals, but these are my first birds. A little history lesson about our adventure!
We bought a house where our kids could raise animals for 4-H as I myself loved that program as a child. My son is just 8 this year and is joining 4-H. He has been obsessed with chickens since he was very small. I told him we would get him some chickens if he wanted to do 4-H.
We hatched some babies and one is a very strange color. I have posted a thread in General for a little help. Thanks in advance!!

Thank you, slordaz. My son is sure excited about the chicks and he loves to read. So he can do some of his own research.
LOL I didn't think about how early it was! I'm up at 5:30 a.m. like clockwork. The kids are up soon anyway.

well I been up since 4 30 cause of a jerk young rooster, but brain is still in bed obviously enjoying making my life miserable, was a long night with a family friends medical emergency and so far 2 big cups of coffee ain't convinced brain to get outta bed lol

Hello and welcome to BYC! Glad you joined.
I, too, loved 4H as a child but did all mine on the back of my pony! My parents tried chickens by buying a group of 6 white leghorns from the local auction house. Imagine their surprise when those lovely POL pullets started crowing one morning!
