Hi I'm a new member. I'm in Australia and have had chickens for about 2 years now. I absolutely love my Girls, they are wonderful to have and have become a wonderful addition to my small menagerie! Along with the joy comes great heartache when some have been taken by predators, mainly foxes. I like my Girls to free range, although I now don't have much of a garden, but to keep them safe I'm having to keep them in their coops, until I can get a decent run made for them. I have a mixed flock of Australorps, Rhode Island Reds, ISA Browns, an Aracana, a Hamburg and just been given a baby Silkie. And have up until last week a Leghorn x Rhode Island Red. Since Christmas I have lost my Gold Lacewing Windott, and two gorgeous Australorps to foxes, then my Leghorn x died from shock, I think,a couple of days after the last attack. I am heartbroken, she was such a beautiful gentle girl! I run a Family Day Care and the children love the chickens and a big part of the day is spent collecting eggs, feeding them and giving them lots off hugs. I am after a pattern for chicken nappies (diapers) so I can bring the Girls inside so they don't miss out on their hugs. If someone can point me in the direction of a pattern to make some it would be greatly appreciated. Kindest regards! Love this site!

I used the Search feature to check out chicken diapers. Most of the returns were either other members looking for a pattern or someone selling the diapers. Here are a couple of the links I looked at...maybe they could be of some use to you with making your own:

Sorry to hear of your losses, that is the downside of free ranging. I hope things go better for you!

Greetings and welcome to BYC! So sorry for the reason you're here, my condolences on your losses, but we're glad you joined us. There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. Hopefully there will be something that can help with your present question. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

Oh, if you haven't done so already, PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. Old folks like me :old will never remember & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!
