That's a nice looking brooder and I like the idea of keeping it around in case you need a sick bay (that's how we use our brooder too). I'm looking forward to seeing how your coop build progresses. Or if you forget to take progress pictures, I look forward to seeing how it turns out, lol.

Thanks NorthFlChick. I originally planned a little smaller, but then I got to thinking ;-)

May have to build a removable nesting box and a roosting bar for the sick bay...altho I'm not sure it's tall enough to accommodate a bar with a full size hen. hmmm. More thinking to do ;-)
 
It's always a good idea to build bigger. Just in case some chicks suddenly appear with no place else to go. I mean, you'd have to take them in, right?

Well, today was the day...Woohoo. 1st egg....value, about 1200 bucks. An awesome feeling to see that first one!
