Thank you to everyone for such a warm welcome! I'm trying to research a manual self locking pop door, or less expensive auto door. Right now just locking run door... Coop didn't come with pop door

I learned a heartbreaking lesson...my Ameraucana (the best layer of my 4 chickens) has had oily black feathers all around vent since I got her a month ago. Antibiotic did not work 1 week ago, so after researching thought it more likely vent gleet. Treated with Epsom salt solution and syringe, (slowly, as instructed so she wouldn't aspirate), but heard tiny bubbling sound (like thru her nostrils during 3rd syringe.). She was dried up Sat. afternoon (could it have worked that fast?). Gave 2nd dose Sunday as precaution, and she died this afternoon. I will only give doses in their water from now on. I'll be picking up more Ameraucanas this Sat because she was a great layer, hopefully they will be too in about 3 months...
