Hi,
My name is suzy I am from Norfolk in UK, I started out keeping few chickens to get the eggs and have now got into breeding them. I have been using this site for last few weeks since getting more into breeding so thought really should join.
I have raised some chicks from fertilised eggs (low hatch rate as didn't have special brooder boxes) and then also put some chicks user my Broodys and they have raised them.
I have pekings, silkies and hybrids and raising some Aracuna chicks to.
Today I hatched my first chick in my incubator which has come from an egg from my hens, another 70 incubating and being added to daily.
Hubby probably thinks I am mad but has gone along with it and built
me a specific shed for rearing and brooding.
Hoping the kids get to see the next hatchling though.

Welcome to BYC.
Be careful with adding eggs to the incubator after your original start day..
they can turn into a nightmare.

Will do. :) I have dated them all and then move them into the hatching incubator at 18 days :)

Great!

Good for you to have a separate hatcher!
You are steps ahead!
:thumbsup

Wow, didn't take you long to figure out chicken addiction and chicken math. You are clearly the head of your class.:thumbsup We are proud of you.
