Hello, Maudie, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I agree with @sourland that your flock is going through their first adult molt. It will nearly always stop egg production for the bird going through it. I don't blame them. I have one that looks like a white porcupine and she seems positively miserable.

My little brood.

I inherited some chickens from granddaughters project. I feed them scratch mixed with layena and oyster shell but read that scratch is insufficient to fee my chickens. I have 5,a rooster and 4 hens all approximately 1 1/2 years old. We have 3 acres and they pretty well free range but want to know what kind of feed to feed them. I am 78 and still garden some so they really enjoyed my tomato plants. I used to do rescues taking in and fostering dogs and cats but it got too much as I am
"getting" older. Still have 3 dogs and multiple cats that call this place home. They as well as the chickens all get along really well especially since the 4 legged one fear the fly swatter. Any help you can give me on the correct feed would be appreciated. They were laying eggs regularly until this last cold snap.
Welcome to BYC! We're glad to have you here! :welcome

My chickens are around the same age, and the same thing is happening to me. I agree with @sourland -- it is their first molt. Best of luck!

Hi! :frow Welcome to BYC! Since you have a rooster, I would recommend a switch to All Flock or Flock Raiser feed and offer oyster shell on the side. I know you don't have to offer grit if you free range, but I do because I'm not convinced their is any little rocks in my orchard where they range. I wouldn't throw out what you have but mix the two foods together until you run out of the old and then make the switch.
