Hahaha, I wonder if anything happened to annoy him or if just didn't get on the same page with them.
I do think that having had a lot of contact with other animals might make it easier to bond with chickens. I also had horses and cats all my life, and only now that I got chickens start to understand them also better, and also connecting with them.

He is just a crotchety guy. His chickens are the pests, horses the hay burners, and his purebred German Shephards the worthless mutts. Takes excellent care of them and woe to anything or anyone that tries to harm them.
