Hello! I am a new member here. I have been raising chickens for about 7 years (?). I started raising them right before I retired. I have really no idea how many chickens I have, maybe around 50. I have D'uccle's and silkies, Polish, and Ayam Cemani (a pair) that live in my horse barn. The bantam's have there own coop, as well as the Polish. The Ayam Cemani pair have free range.of the barn. I have larger outside coops where we have Americauna, Salmon faverolle, marons, and buff orpingtons. I have a D'uccle rooster and a Salmon Faverolle rooster. Bought a small incubator for fun, and have hatched 12 bantam, and so far 3 favorelle's. I have had issues with hatching the favorelle's during the hatch (pip, are peeping loudly, but cant get out of the egg). I have only lost one bantam a couple of days after the hatch. Love my chickens, that why I am here. For fun I am a runner and a quilter.
