Hi I have finally taken the big step into getting my own chickens :) I am totally new and still learning, I have 3 chickens, ones a novo brown hybrid, ones a white star/leghorn and the others a blue belle :D they are lovely but very shy at the moment but hopefully that will pass soon. Thanks for reading and im sure i will be asking loads of questions

Welcome to BYC!

You can work with your birds to tame them down. First, always move slowly around them for a while and avoid chasing or picking them up. But make a routine of going out to sit with them for 20 mins a day. Sit on the ground on their level. Bring some treats or goodies. Food is a wonderful motivator for bonding. Toss some treats out all around you and let them come in at their own pace. Hold some treats in your hand for them to eat. Do this for a few weeks and pretty soon you will have them climbing all over you.

Enjoy all your poultry adventures and welcome to our flock!

I had two Bluebells and found them really sweet and friendly. The Leghorns not so much though. But give them time and treats will help!

Have any pics of the chickens? I don't know a couple of these breeds and would like to see/follow please and thank you.
