I've had a few snakes already, I'm South of you about 85 miles. I'm up your way quite often, I hope the fires haven't affected you.

Wow, Chaparral! I have driven thru your territory on my way to El Paso many times. I miss the desert life. This mountain living is way to cold for me.

The recent White fire in Ruidoso Downs came within 5 miles of us. (We are located about 15 miles north of Ruidoso, and east of Alto) We saw the smoke billow for days and the air really reeked of it. Fortunately we didn't have to evacuate. I don't know of any shelter that would take all our pets and livestock!!

I envy you, I'm looking for colder. It's 100 here right now, hot wind to go with it,,, yay,,,,, lol I'm coming up that way in a week or two for a break.

The bear trap is still sitting empty in my yard. He was back last night and the trail cam got a great picture of him but he didnt go all the way into the trap. UGH! Yogi has got to go. I now carry a gun to lock my chickens up at night and have hardly left the house for a week. He has come to visit 4 times in 7 days. Hopefully tonight is the night!

Yes, I suppose you folks in Chaparral are a TAD hotter than we are.

This wind has got to stop, and the dust is driving me crazy! Well, you will enjoy the cool pines on your trip up here in a few weeks. Be aware that the forest is closed due to extreme fire danger.

Somebody has got to catch that bear. I don't blame you for arming yourself going out at night. Years ago we had one that came around everynight for over a week. All the livestock had a VERY early bedtime back then as I was NOT going out even at dusk.
