New Muscovy's Arrived Today

My Muscovy girls lay khaki or darkish cream colored
THAT is SO COOL!!!!! I NEVER knew they could lay anything other than white!!! Great, now I have to find one that lays colored eggs. As if my husband doesn't think I have too many ducks already!!!!!

I got a little worried about the ebay thing, because the ONE time I ordered from ebay, it was horrible. I ordered turkey eggs. They LOOKED like turkey eggs sort of. Except one had broke in shipping. And, the brown color and spots washed off. So, ummmm... I think I got chicken eggs that were painted. Because none of my turkeys lay eggs that the color and spots wash off of.

I had a friend put them in her incubator because she's better at it than I am, and none hatched.

UGH. So, ya... they probably are fine. And Muscovy eggs. Just... I have NEVER seen colored Muscovy eggs!!!!!!!! Must... Get.. Some....

Here's are some pics of supossed colors. Sellers claims they are rare

I did go and check the seller already. The ducks are blue, chocolate, and ... technically lilac, but it's complex. They are dusky, which is my forte. Dusky in chocolate makes green sheen chocolate. Dusky in lilac makes "calico" looking birds. That blue and brown hen is a lilac, technically, but the color isn't what one would expect of lilac.

You could get blue, chocolate, black, "lilac that looks like calico", or silver. You might get classic lilac, but from the looks of it, I doubt it.

BUT... the calico looking lilac are quite rare!!

You're likely to get some gorgeous babies!

Ok heres is a few pics of the eggs I don't have a candler and I didn't want to handle them to much. I definitely have 3 detached air sac's so will see how it goes.
