Hi all.
We went to the lake today and saw a trio of ducks swimming around. They were obviously dumped there very interested in food not afraid of people. One was a Pekin drake. My daughter was able to capture him. He seemed very calm and sweet definitely used to people. Took him home to some feed but she was very happy to eat. He's funny used to dogs but does not like cats lol. Unfortunately he has a very bad case of bumblefoot. I have had ducks for years but fortunately had never had to deal with bumblefoot. Any suggestions on treatments?

The sores are already looking better. All I have been using is clean bedding. The one foot is still pretty swallen. He is a sweet guy, infact he is calmer than my own pekins.

I'd try soaking in some warm Epsom salt water to help with swelling and if that is a scab eventually that will need to come off to get that infection out. He is one lucky guy. Did ya'll go back to see if you could rescue the other ones?
