I am retired and living with my daughter and her husband in Brooks, Alberta. They plan to sell their house and move to an acreage where we could have some small livestock, a big garden, a pond, etc.. I have always had chickens, even as a kid. Whenever I live someplace where I can keep some, I do. I have raised RIR in Peru, Silkies, in Laos, Lavender Guineas in Laos, OEG roosters in Laos (no hens so I had to cross them with Thai bantams), same for my Black Rosecomb rooster, Naked Necks - (just as they show up in Thailand - no special breed), Red Junglefowl crosses in Laos, Fayoumis in Laos (There is an interesting breed); plus homing pigeons, meat pigeons, Fantails, Modenas, different types of doves, budgies, etc... In Bangladesh I started a duck program that was very successful and afterward resulted in hundreds of thousands of ducks being farmed in a country that had only a few local fairly non-productive ducks after the civil war in 1973-75. I hope to be able to keep layer ducks again. Khaki Campbells are the best. I was director of a large Ringneck Pheasant farm for 5 years (2 years as the Hatchery Manager before that.).
I like all birds. Love dogs. My three kids are grown and with families - except one. I travel regularly back to Thailand and Laos to see my son and his family in Bangkok, and my sort of "foster kids" in Laos. In fact, I just returned on March 20.

Welcome back!
