OP you may want to read up on the MHP by Blooie for the "next" time for heating, saves on the fire concern and I've found the chicks are quieter & calmer. Those pics have caused a "urge" that maybe I need to get some

I will definitely check that out! I havent done a brooder set up in aaaages. The last several new groups of peepers have gone the "stick em under a broody hen" route lol.

.... oh dear now I'm concerned. I checked all over the box when I bought it for any mention of a coating and did see anything nor on the website. Its feit brand... does anyone have those?

Is it this heat bulb? it says it has teflon coting but it could be a deferent model

Why yes it is. Another website literally said it didnt. I just spent an hour literally tearing my house apart at 4 am to find a clear plain glass bulb and finally found one in my sons room. The offending bulb has been removed and the entire house now hates me including the chicks whose home is now much brighter. Theyll get over it.

Please don't tempt me! Last ones I ordered when hubs was out of town.
He wasn't too happy about me almost doubling the flock on the sly...i'd do it again in a heartbeat though.
