New Pet Coming Home Today! (Betta Fish Thread!)

Pics
Had my eye on an orange koi half moon plakat on Aquabid. Made the mistake of looking at the Bettas in Petco. There he was in all his cloudy water, fin rot glory. I couldn't leave him. Meet Princess Gerald.

He's a super delta. He naps on his Anubias but sleeps stuck to the filter intake. He's a weirdo.
It's great that you saved him! What a pretty fish. Nice tank, too!

Thank you, I am not quite sure what happened to them. To elaborate on Fireworks, we went on a trip and hired a person to pet-sit our pets. When we returned a week later, Fireworks had turned a black color. He died not long after. The same pet sitter also spilled a lot of fish food and didn't bother to clean it up.
Sounds like he got ammonia burns from the waste of the exess fish food.

Jewels... She hates sitting still, hope to upgrade her to a 10 gallon with some platy fish☺

As you can tell, I don't have very good pictures of Blue Boy. He is always swimming around! It's much easier to take pictures of my chickens. Like....look at this one!

If I make a funny noise, they all look up and stand still. *Snap!* goes the camera. 😂 (This works really well with adult chickens...)

Your betta would love a 10 gallon tank. You can't keep platies with a betta though. Platies need very hard water (all livebearers do) and bettas need soft water.
I personally would not keep a betta with any other fish, they are very territorial. If you want to try it though, you could maybe put in some chili rasboras. Just make sure that your betta is getting the right amount of food since they are very slow compared to rasboras.

Good advice for me, too.... if I ever want to add other fish to my betta's tank. Thanks!
