My sister also had a Beta. Mine was a female, hers was a male. They lived in seperate rooms, don't worry. He would make big bubble nest.

That's nice. When a male makes a bubble nest when there are no females, doesn't it mean he is happy and healthy?

I think so. He loved my sister. He would always a temp to follow her without flaring his gills. It was pretty weird...
Also I think they mark their territory with them.

They swim to the front of the tank and start going up and down/side to side and wiggling. Is that was you mean?
