New Pet Coming Home Today! (Betta Fish Thread!)

Pics
Wow! Just finished reading this thread and I now REALLY, REALLY, want a betta! I have not been very good at keeping fish or live plants alive... I have had some luck with bettas, though! We had a bright red one named Swimmy who lived for almost five years. The saddest betta story I have is about a blue one who looked similar to Blue Boy. After a trip we found him outside the tank... dead, he had lept out of the very tiny hole on the top of the tank lid :hit. Cover up any holes!) I have a ten gallon filtered and heated tank currently holding the fish from one of the other tanks we have that we thought was leaking, (the cat actually just spilled its water bowl.) I want to try to find a betta for it. Our pet stores have both male and female bettas... and babies.

My brother had a Betta once and nocked it's VERY small tank over in his sleep☹️ , it was not good and he found it in his cloths under his bed after looking for it for months 😂

I forgot who posted about the betta turning black and then dieing... but I have heard about a gourami sickness that sounds similar (bettas and gouramis are similar, both types of labyrinth fish.) I think it may only be something only gouramis can get, though... really don't know. Poor fish :( .

I'm sorry about your fish.
How big was the whole?

No platys then, I (knowing me) was going to do more research first to. I really want platys with my goldfish. Jewels currently lives with a snail, his name is Sage. Sage and Tyme were originally bought with my mystery snail, Oregano, and another named mint. Mint was dead soon after arriving (all were kept in my goldfish tank) and Oregano had a lech and died, so did Oregano replacement Cornucopia. So Tyme and Sage were moved in with Jewels, unfortunately Tyme drowned a few days back.

I'm sorry you lost so many snails. :( What do you feed Sage?

The hole was only about two square inches (just the feeding hole, the lid didn't come with a latch). This happening is probably pretty rare, but now I'm paranoid! 🤣.

The picture quality is bad...

Just look at my feeding hole now!

Haha, it's actually just so the cats don't put their paws in.
It looks nice and dramatic, though!
