It is a small but vicious creature....not sure of species categories but it has been dubbed the Delarex....it attacks at any time, goes for the head and neck area especially the eyes of its victim. Not known if lethal but it is dangerously annoying.

Today Speckledhen and I were both confronted with this creature as it repeatedly attacked her full grown Delaware rooster....Isaac. I managed to get a picture of the Delarex to share as a warning so you can look out for this predator. I should mention the Delarex also bit both of us. We have no idea what size these creatures will be at full growth potential...but be afraid be very afraid.

The Delarex for your information...

I take it the Delarex is the chick in the pic.?

I'm in western KY, do I have to worry about it making it's way down here and attacking my chicks or myself? It does looks super vicious!

LMAO. Flee Flee for your lives I say! The Delarex is coming. On a side note....should anyone want one of their own I am sure there will be extra. hint hint

Two more were hatched during the night under an unsuspecting hen that makes 5 in as many weeks in Georgia.

They will be big gorgeous boys and should have great temperaments as their parents have awesome temperaments and come from excellent stock.

Aww, they're adorable! Sounds like they would be great additions to someone's flock. The sex linking makes it even better. Wish I could take some, but I have all bantams right now and my hubby wants to stick with the little ones. Should he ever change his mind though, you wouldn't be too far of a trip from me.
