New Project "Road to Ok" Quilt for My Bed (Top Finished!)

What a fabulous quilt! Kathyinmo is an angel! I too feel like I have made good friends here!

Yes, she is! I've had several guardian angels this past year.

Thanks so much, but I would have been done sooner, if I hadn't had a few glitches. To be fair, I don't have a job and my DH is fine with tending the birds while I quilt. I'm nowhere near the speed of MissPrissy, though!

Omigosh! I put the purple and gold quilt Kathy sent me on the floor hoop, was just getting into a rhythm with the quilting and it broke! I heard CRACK! and realized the hoop part where it's attached to the legs just snapped in two.

Now, I have to put a queen size quilt on a lap hoop or find another quilting frame of some sort that isn't too big for my greatroom, like my old fashioned floor frame is.

OH NO ! ! Is there no way to repair it? Duck tape, wood glue? Hey there is this stuff at the lumber yard, and it will work on anything ... concrete, glass, wood, etc. Shoot, I can't remember what it is called. We used it on our deck steps connected to concrete. It's great stuff.

My DH is trying to repair it, but the quilt is so heavy, I doubt it will hold. I put the quilt in a slightly smaller oval hoop and was sitting on the couch with it, quilting. The problem is the couch is next to the woodstove and it's HOT over there with a huge snuggly quilt on my lap, LOL. I'll get it done, just hate that my other one broke.

Cynthia,

That is beautiful! Believe it or not, I have quilted. When my Grandmother was living, her and her 4 sisters would get together every winter and quilt a quilt. I have several beautiful quilts that I worked on with her. I was her assistant at piecing and keeping her pattern correct. That was awesome times. I have since then quilted wall hangings, etc. One day, I will get back to it.

Thanks for sharing!!!!
