New Project "Road to Ok" Quilt for My Bed (Top Finished!)

If you are going for a cabiny rustic look, I would use the second layout and make the points gold. The first one has a busier look that is lovely, but doesn't lend itself as well to the rustic look. The third one has a bit of more moders "artsy" look. I definitely think that the 2nd one is the best for a cabiny type look. Do you have and E-Quilt program? I love mine because it lets you see all of the layouts in your chosen blocks and colors.

Thank you for doing that for me, verthandi! I see what you mean now. That would just mean I need to have a 4th color in there. I could even switch up the cream and the gold in your example, too, or put the gold in the center where the greens are. Hmm. Very nice idea!

Sorry, Jody, I must have posted when you did and didn't see your post above mine! I don't have any quilting programs like that. It's so great to get all this input, thank you! I do see what you mean about the layout in the second one vs the first or third. Good point! Found the following one in spring colors...makes me want to do both types!

Yep, that's the link I posted in the first post. Amazing how different the same, very simple block can look, just amazing. You could do quilt after quilt and depending on fabric and block arrangement, not have any two look alike.

Using this one as your guide...can some of your burgandy be used for a binding and you get a second red to go with the first for the red stars you want. This would also avoid the "flower" look.
Alternating the varied greens and the single gold would give a nice path.
Road to Oklahoma.....of course....I'm partial.

I'll have to see what I can come up with. Asked DH if we could go to a Hobby Lobby for my birthday and maybe I can find more fabric there or at a real fabric store (not a quilt shop--gee, those fabrics are expensive!). The closest one is over an hour away.

oh could you please tell me what the Story behind a Road to Oklahoma quilt is?

I don't know anything about quilting, but I am from Oklahoma, so I am really interested!
I would like to take up quilting one day, but with 4 kids under 5, I have a really hard time taking time out to learn any new crafts.
