New Pullets socially distancing - Should I be Concerned?

I am planning to place some chicken wire squares behind the three open vents for predator deterrence. What do you all think of the passive air ventilation set up so far? I am thinking this should work and keep the chickens happy?

Put in more if you can . Kind of hard to see but I have 40 of these vent holes just under the roof line (obviously bigger coop though).

Also hardware cloth is a much better option than the chicken wire... you can secure them in place with screws and fender washers or make a wood frame to go over it and sandwich the wire into place.

Here is a picture of what they do in their coop versus using the roost bar overnight.

I’m wondering if there’s enough space for all 8 on the roost? I like to give 12” per chicken. Maybe just adding another roost bar would help.

That’s an excellent observation. I made the same observation since I posted this thread and I have since added two more roost bars. So now there are three total roost bars for the chickens inside the house. They predominantly use only two of the three roost bars.

Yes, they all sleep on the roost bars now.
