New puppy!! DNA test? What do you think he is? UPDATE on pg 7

Look up some blue dane breeders, you would be surprised how much he looks like a dane pup, can you feel the pit jaw at the back of his mouth, it is a dominant trait in pit mixes. But look at his jowls as well. He is awfully cute! Also, is his tail thicker at the base? I will try to find the link of a lady I used to know who bred them.

DNA testing is expensive, when you get into mixed breeds it gets kinda crazy. I know for our dogs, all they do is keep their DNA on file so that when you DNA a pup you can prove who it's parents are, that is about it.

I looked into several types of DNA test and some only test 50-some-odd breeds, which leads to inaccurate tests. The one that I like is the Wisdom Panel Insights. It is $79.99 and covers 185+ breeds.

Oh my gosh! Those Danes are gorgeous!! Those are definitely the same color as him. Wouldn't that be an interesting mix...Great Dane/Pit Bull. haha!

Good point! He has his first vet appt on Friday. We are going to have him microchipped when he is neutered (3 weeks or so from now, we guess). Our property is fully fenced and our neighborhood is decent, so I think he will be ok until he gets clipped and chipped.

That's not the same blue as a Weimaraner. A bit off from all the blue pits I've seen, but I've seen that blue in Danes.

BTW the most awesome Blue Pitt was Jersey who owned my daughter and he family unitl hw was taken by cancer. Most mellow, loving, intimadating look dog you'd ever seen, but what a great dog he was.

Neither breed has a stand up ear unless clipped and Danes have big ears to begin with. Look how tall an errect Dane's ear looks.
