Ember is currently stealing Comets bed lol! I thought he would be disappointed we got a new pup, but he's actually handling it pretty well. He'll learn to love he eventually. :D
Whenever I go over to someone's house where they have a puppy and an older dog, I always pet the older dog first becuase I knowt that the older dog thinks that it's being neglected lol

Get started brushing her and bathing her and introducing her to grooming tools now, so that it's not a PITA later!
She has had one bath so far, and I was not present but I heard she tolerated it okay. She is pretty good with the electric clippers on her feet (while lying down and being fed kibble), but base of tail is a bit more challenging, and face is still completely off limits (it is going to be a real challenge!). I did a bit of feet and base of tail today. The base of tail turned out quite bad. Apparently the hair is pretty sparse there, so there are patches of skin showing through. I need to improve my skills with the razor! At least she looks like a poodle, though. :)
So far brushing can only be done when she is completely occupied with something else, like a toy, because otherwise she just bites the brush or comb over and over. Oh--another big challenge is her ears. They are starting to smell a bit and need to be cleaned out and have the ear hairs plucked, and she is not a fan of any of this. Of course I can't expect her to be, but we need to get it done at some point soon because I don't want her to develop an infection.

I know! They're always so disappointed!
When we got Comet, we left him with Pearl out of his crate in the kitchen while we went to the movies to watch "The Secret Life of Pets". If you've seen the movie, you're know that knew the lady brings the new dog home, the obedient little dog breaks a bunch of things because he thinks the lady will blame it on the new dog and take him back to the shelter.
When we came home, Pearls ear medication and cotton swabs (she had an ear infection at the time) were exploded all over the kitchen floor. Usually we would blame Comet, but the ear supplies/medication was on a higher shelf that would definitely take some work for a tiny puppy to reach. We've always wondered if Pearl got to it and tore it apart to try and get rid of Comet lol! Dogs are the best!
