New Puppy Time!!

Sorry this is late in coming! Morkies sure are a fun breed to keep, but wow, if you have never kept a Yorkie, get ready for more energy than 10 puppies all wrapped up into one!!! And it is a good thing Toby is only half Yorkie, the other half being the calm lap dog of a Maltese!! Toby has grown onto a fine young boy. He weighs in at 13.8 pounds and is very healthy and robust. He turns 1 yr old this Wednesday, April 6! He was a VERY hyper puppy, thankfully he is growing up, too much on this old lady. :old:lol: He is becoming well mannered now, knows right from wrong and is becoming quite the snuggler.

He is so cute! I want to run out and get a puppy!

Ah! That face and those eyes 😍 I also like his size. Those teeny tiny dogs are so adorable but the ones that I've been around in both breeds, have been far more fragile. Of course that's not always the case. Thank you for updating and sharing your cutie patootie with us. Puppies can be a lot of work, especially if they're high strung. They are so worth it in the long run though 💜

Thanks Clucky!

LOL....you should! If you have the time to work and train them, its all worth it. :)
There is a little rescue dog that I have my eye on. I'm hoping he gets a home soon. I have my hands full with two boxers and two cats.
But. He looks so much like my old dog, who died 3 years ago. He was a rescue also. I keep telling myself that this little dog won't be the same dog.
Here he is. His name is Benny, and he is about 2 hours away.

Here is a picture of my Truman, who passed through the pearly gates 3 years ago. I know a lot of dogs look alike but the resemblance to a younger Truman, is amazing to me. The main thing stopping me is age. Truman was 21 when he died. If Benny lived that long, I'd have to find him a guardian. June, my youngest cat, is just one, so I'm pretty sure she'll need a guardian.

Meet our new puppy Toby! He is a Morkie (Maltese/Yorkshire Terrier) 11 weeks old now. He is expected to top out around 10 -12 pounds full grown. Super smart little guy, we have had him since he was 8 weeks old, he is already learning to go outside to do his business, he is learning the basic commands of sit, stay and come, he fetches toys. And because these dogs are endless grooming nightmares, :D I have already started conditioning him with the brushes, scissors and light trimming around the face, foot pads and have trimmed nails. Love this little guy!!

Janie, I think you need Benny...look at that face!

Yes, both of these breeds, the Yorkie and Maltese can be very fragile. We had a Maltese previously that was extremely fragile, jumping off the couch would have him limping and crying out. And I was worried about Toby too but he comes from hefty stock, his Maltese Mom weighs in at 15 pounds, she too is stocky and muscular. Toby has tree trunks for legs and paws the size of a small bear. :gigSo definitely before buying this breed, check the parents size.

OMG...Benny is adorable!!! :love Perfect size too, not too small, not too large.

I am so sorry about your Truman. :hugs It's so difficult to lose them. I know I was trying to replace our Maltese Lollie with Toby, in your heart you know it's not the same dog but you are desperate to heal that hole in your heart. 21 yrs?! Wow, you obviously did everything right and maybe had 2 dog lives there, my Lollie only made it to 12. Truman was adorable!! :love
