New Rabbit! Showable?

@Bunnylady
Thank you for the info. I purchased her as a pet but hey if she was showable why not try something new? I wonder if the seller was going to show something other than ARBA? Or just wanted her gone? She was crazy cheap ($20) in terms of a lionhead with her coloring in my area I still consider her a good purchase.

If the seller was a kid, they might have had showing in 4-H in mind. I've heard that some 4-H clubs adhere to the ARBA standards as far as the animals, but since they are generally judging the child, not the rabbit (Showmanship), sometimes they don't even require a purebred (our local club doesn't even require that the rabbit belong to the child).

Some clubs might be willing to allocate time for the "exhibition" of non-showable colors, but since that means a judge investing time in something that has no official standing, it is totally at the discretion of the show secretary. It also involves the exhibitor providing the secretary with a copy of the working standard for the variety. Even if there was an approved working standard for harlequin, the white spot is a DQ in any color, as are ears over 3 1/2", or a mature weight in excess of 3.12 lbs.
