New recruit to the Crazy Chicken Lady Army needing help trying to identify a chick 🙂

Definitely a d’Uccle then! She’s hatchery quality so a lack of puffy cheeks isnt all that uncommon. She could also be referred to as a booted bantam since she doesn’t have the beard or muffs.

ETA: I just looked at the pictures again, she does look like she has muffs and a beard. So d’Uccle for sure!

Yes she definitely has the fluff that goes all the way around. It starts right at the bottom of her eye and floofs all the way around to her other eye I picked her out because she was one of the smallest and the only one that had a grayish color on her back. Now I just have to stay out of Tractor Supply until chick days are over because I’ve always wanted a Silkie (doesn’t everyone?) and now I know how to spot them as chicks there would be absolutely no way I would resist.

I’ll snap a few pictures of my millie fleur d’Uccles chicks (1-2 weeks old) in the morning. Maybe I’ll sneak a few porcelain d’Uccle pics into there too.

oh I saw those cheeks immediately! I’m super excited to see her grow up! I knew I wasn’t crazy that I saw my chick’s fluff It’s hard to really catch in a pic though!

My husband called me today when he was driving by one to see if we needed anything to “save me a trip”. I’m sure it was more that he was trying to keep me from going in there again We have dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, birds, and now chickens so yeah... I won’t be able to stay out!
