New rescue hen- so many questions!

When they molt, she'll grow them back, but they'll quickly fall back off.

I've heard of someone who had a frazzle, and they seperated it from the others and gave it extra care and it lived a happy life. I'll see if I can find a link.

Ugh. I can't find the link. Here's what I know though. Frazzles are extremely sensitive to heat and cold, so you'll need to help her out during the winter and summer months. You might want to try seperating her, or even bringing her inside, so that she hopefully won't have her feathers rubbed off. If you keep her outside, she'll easily get sunburned, so either give her sunscreen(weird, I know) or don't let her stay in the sun for too long. And, if you want a true frizzle you can breed her with a smooth rooster to get 100% frizzles.

Basically, just do whatever you can to keep her warm and try to make sure her feathers stay on. Good luck!

I guess she could be a molting frizzle, but the odds of that being the case are not likely. Just keep her from getting too hot or too cold and once she molts and gets her feathers in try and make sure she doesn't lose them. Hope I'm making a little since.

Yep I get it. There is plenty of shade in the yard for her, but I have animal sunscreen so I'll try that. I have no clue what I am going to do come winter

she should be okay with the others now since she doesn't have to share an 8x8 pen with five other hens. They've got a huge yard to freerange. Poor baby

Hi Aubrey, Surfing BYC and saw your new "birdie"--whoa, very interesting....I tend to agree with the frazzled business as the skin looks so normal, Bless you for taking on this project, and is that Petey in the background of the 4th picture?? This one is gonna be a tough one to figure out....
