new 'scovy ladies...ive never seen this colour!

well i guess it wasnt the drake i should have been worried about, but the other ladies. they attacking the newbie and pinning her down on the ground not letting her move and pecking her head and back constantly. is this something that will settle down once they rearrange the pecking order or should i get her out of their now??

If they are overcrowded, it may always be an issue. I don't have trouble because I free range. They will compete and beat up on each other, but eventually they will be fine. Mine tend to take a couple days, max - just make sure they can stay away from the bullies and still be able to get in the shelter and have access to food/water.

they are free range so overcrowding cant be problem, hope they are just sorting out their hierarchy...

My girls have to go through this every year when breding season starts up, The younger girls pick on the older ones mostly. But it seems after a few weeks they settle down. The 2 trouble makers have to sleep separate from the others because they can be bullies.
