We picked up our 2 Sebbies today...we're in LOVE!

They've already enjoyed their pool and explored the pen, & discovered the doghouse/shelter we've got for them.
We're going to call them Sammy and Sadie. Is she a Saddleback or Splash, from these pics? They'll be 1 yr old in July and I'm so glad to be the winner of them! (BYC Buy Sell Auction) My daughter and I love them- my son and Hubby prepared the pen while we were driving to pick them up today. So, here are a few pics from today- I was so glad the rain stopped and we had a sunny day today-~ finally!

I believe she is a saddleback but I'm no expert. Be sure to watch her head in case that bald spot starts to tear, you don't want her bleeding to death from a wound! Congrats on the win, enjoy!

Yep-we'll be watching it. Thanks. Her previous owner said he (Sammy) was over zealous and had to be separated for a bit and had since calmed down. I'll watch for that here, and if need be, we'll move him away from her for awhile again. Poor thing...he needs a few more girls to spread his lovin' around some!

We didn't see anything today from him, just guarding her some.

Were they in with other geese? I have 5 ganders and 1 goose and my goose doesn't have anything like that.

I know you said you would, but just please be sure to watch it closely!

I had a crested duckling that hatched blind this winter (side-effect of the crested gene). She obviously couldn't see if anyone was picking on her and apparently one of my geese reached over the side of the pen the ducklings were in and bit her on the back of her head where the crest was. Of course she started scratching it and no matter what I did she just kept ripping it open. She ended up bleeding to death one night while I was asleep

It is much easier to keep them from getting injured than trying to keep a head/neck skin injury from being re-opened.

Thanks all- I just picked them up yesterday and as far as I know, they were the only geese but lived with a few Roosters and got along with them. I"ll be watching closely. That's the last thing I'd want....for her to bleed to death. They're so cute- I just went out to check on them and they ran over to the pen door and starting chatting me up....didn't let me get a word in hardly!

Cool! Thanks Ducklover! (Let me know how your eggs are coming in the incubator! Pm me if you want some more to be shipped anytime! )

That 1st injusry healed up but he has continued to pull the feathers out. The current scab was from about week ago. I heard them out there, looked out and he was mating her again. It was just a surface abrasion that I treated with neosporin, the scab is probably just about ready to come off. I don't think he is mating her that often but if you are around then they mate, you will know it.
