New Silkie Eye Trouble

Lice are usually visible; no necessarily so with mites, which are more likely to cause eye issues. Personally I would use ivermectin pour-on on the birds and put sevin or permethrin dust in their bedding.

For applying sevin dust to the birds, I used a big fluffy make-up brush like you'd use to put a powder foundation on. Dip in the bag of sevins, knock off the excess, and it had about one 8 week old silkie's worth of dust on it! Now I just need to apply to their bedding and make up a dust bath for them. We have a wood stove so there's a pile of wood ashes to use as a base!

I use about .25-.35 cc for Silkies. Or about 4-5 drops in an eye dropper.
