New Silkie - toes turned in. Fixing Minion's feet

I have not tried to re-wrap Minion's leg my self but the way she showed me to slip his tendon into proper position (first have someone hold the biddy) and she used her thumb and rolled his right tendon by pressing on the inside of his right tendon hock and rolling it upwards and to the right. That would make a slightly nauseating to me "pop" you could feel under the skin but you know its right when you see his foot go from a useless clutched position to having his fingers spread out and being able to use them instantly. Yes it will hurt him... Yes he will protest. My biggest fear when I go to re-wrap is more of having it too tight. She said if you wrap it and the tendon is not in the right place, his foot will remain the same in a clutched position. Minion is using his leg now. Not perfectly, more like a peg-leg pirate BUT before this he would not use it at all and only hop on his good leg which would in the future cause the good leg to become arthritic.

how ever he wants to use let him if you need to have a phone video with the dr to see how to put it back

I wish I had recorded it with my camera. My phone on the other hand is a primitive flip cell by choice as it is SO MUCH MORE DURABLE (and touch screens FREAK me out). Minion's little leg is SOOOO tiny it would probably be too hard to see it snap into place. I am hoping he doubles in size by next wrap changing day.

I re-wrapped Minions leg. I don't know if its going to get better. I had to do it like 4 times. I would wrap it, set her down and see how or if she could walk or use the leg and I had to keep changing how I wrapped it until she could do a useful "peg leg" walk. The whole process is upsetting to her though. I had to keep stopping and consoling her to calm her down and then feeding her some with the eyedropper to get her to stop crying so bad and calm down. She prefers eating using the baby bird gruel in the eyedropper to anything else. She is still so VERY TINY. If she would only grow it would be so much easier to bandage her leg. I let her with her litter mates when they are acting sleepy and not hyper and I sit there with her but I put her back in her basket when I am not with her so they don't injure her. The basket is in the bunny hutch with the other chicks, they can see and talk to her but no slam dancing with the poor Minion.

Minion's leg is not getting better... I am hoping she will learn to deal with the disability and can live a full life, but probably not with the other birds unless she is being babysat by me. She is just too delicate... Junebug just jumped on her and I thought she squished her... :(

It very well be the way her life is going to go
