New to chicken raising!

Good morning! My husband and I are just venturing into the world of raising chickens. Our son and his wife live nearby and they raise chickens, ducks, geese, and Scottish Highland Cows. They delivered our first 3 chickens last weekend - Chocolate Orpingtons! It became clear near the time of delivery that one was a rooster but we went ahead and took him, so we will see how that goes. We have a small coop, purchased from Chewy, and are considering enclosing some space among some pines for the chickens to free range. We love to use our available resources and would like to incorporate the trees into the project as part of the boundary - currently looking at types of netting/hardware cloth/deer barrier, etc . We named our chickens Hershey, Cocoa and Reese and I will attach a couple of photos. They are getting quite fluffy! I look forward to learning a lot on this site!

Welcome to BYC! I have three chocolate Orpington hens in a 4 x 4 Amish built coop and it’s just enough for them overnight.
They get huge., lol
