New to chickens and No idea what I’m doing


Oh that is a meat chicken. I would go ahead and put it in the freezer or sell it to someone who will do it. They eat so much that even if you wanna prolong its life by limiting their food it will just be extra unnecessary work, although some do have the time and patience for that.

Sorry you can’t keep the roosters. You may be able to sell those or may have to give em away depending on your area. How I’ve read some people say, this year was the year of the roosters 😂

Cornish x are meat birds, they eat constantly if permitted to do so and gain so much weight their legs cannot hold them up and their organs begin to fail them.

They generally need to be processed (and eaten) by 8 weeks of age.
I would have a hard time raising a poultry like that and only knowing you have eight weeks to love on it before the big day. :(

Don't get me wrong, I love fresh meat and to know where and how it was raised right all the better over any store bought poultry! :)
