Thanks for the feedback Tanya. I'm seeing recommendations in the article linked in a previous welcome at 10 sq ft each. The city requires 8 sq ft minimum but there is a 24 sq ft. x 2' high area under the coop which, brings it up to a total of 12 per bird (but only 8 of fly area). Are you able to point me to any other articles that talk about this?8 sqft per bird in the run is too small. My coop is very bright and I've no issues with that .. Seemingly neither do the chickens!
The easiest place to add ventilation is under the eaves and on the gable peaks, if your design has them, provided you have good overhang of the roof line.
