(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am brand new to chickens
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 0 and am looking to have 4-6
(3) What breeds do you have?
I do not have any but am wanting to get Blue Laced Red Wyandotte or Rhode Island Red
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
..... probably the responsibility for my 5 children. I will most likely like getting to know their different personalities and of course having fresh eggs
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I play Soccer, Volleyball, watch my kids play sports, I play Chess, Dungeons and Dragons, I garden, I hike, camp, read, and the biggest of all would be spend time with Janelle.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We just bought our first house. I am married to Janelle (it will be 10 years this year!) and am 31 years old. We have 5 children (Ezra 8, Cade 7, Elora 6, Callie 3, and Juvia 1). We have a cat named Anubis and I want to have chickens and Bees very soon. (don't know exactly how to separate my garden, bees, and chickens yet on only .82 acres of lands and neighbors close by)
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
A friend told me about BYC and I did not know about it much. I just know that when I am more settled and my credit is better and I am making more money (right now I am a special education teacher and a soccer coach I might try and become a principal) I want to have a real farm with a few pigs, goats, bees, chickens, and maybe a cow with a very large garden. With that said it is good to find a community with so many different people and experiences that are willing to throw out some advice.
