New to chickens. New to compost.

I want to put a compost bin in my chicken run to use in my small veggie garden.
I’ve planted potatoes and garlic. If I put the left over greens in the compost of the run, will it hurt my birds?

I believe garlic is safe for chickens, but potato leaves are toxic.

To be safe, you could either compost the potato vines outside the chicken run or bury the vines deep in the pile where the chickens won't get to them before they decompose.
