Greetings and welcome to BYC MKM! So glad you joined us. A chicken really needs at least 1 (most recommend 2, in case something bad happens to one) companion. You know, that speaks its language? They are flock creatures after all. Most of those coops from the hardware store will hold 2-3 (but NO more - despite what they might say/advertise/lie

) birds. Sorry the diaper didn't work out so well.
Absolutely LOVE the picture of your daughter? Grand daughter? Niece? whichever... what a great pic!
Yes, she apparently came that way. After first 3 days I bought her a small coop from Tractor Supply. I get approx. 5 eggs per week. Fed them to my husband and he lived so we all tried them!
Sorry, but I had to laugh at the last part...

I mean, really, did you think they'd be poisonous or something?

So now that you've tried them, how do you feel they compare to store bought? I'd give her another month on your good food regimen and quality care, and then compare!
There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!
Oh, if you haven't done so already, PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. Old folks like me will never remember & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!
