New to Chickens!

Don’t allow them to sleep in their boxes. Block the boxes overnight if you need to. Having a 2x4 laying 4” wide is recommended for a perch. Have it higher than the nests.
Chickens are perfectly fine down to zero degrees.
Thank you Bull Chick! I was wondering how to leave the ladies out the Nesting boxes. They all seem to huddle in one area of the nesting boxes and they poop there as well and having to constantly clean. I'm going to trying blocking off at night so they use their roosting perch. They use them in the day as well as the swing but at night they want to go to the nesting boxes. Sometime five chickens will want to lay in one box and all on top of each other. It's not cold here. I'm in a suberb outside of NOLA.

Welcome! Lots of great advice here lots to learn from. My chickens do fine and we get to minus 7 to 10 Celsius here and they don't mind at all. Before they were laying, we put cardboard over the nests so they couldn't get in there to sleep. Everything you need to know is here somewhere :)
